Nowadays, being able to create an object with your own hands gives a lot of satisfaction. If the realized object is then useful, as for a stool, then the challenge becomes more compelling. For greater ease of realization of the stool, the four feet will be replaced by two plywood panels, joined perpendicular to each other.
Everything needed:
- 3 wooden panels
- Chisel and hammer
- Alternative saw
- Wood glue
- Work clamp bench
Method:
Once you have procured the three plywood panels, take only two and make two central slits so that they fit the two panels crosswise. The third panel will then be fixed on the cross, which will become the stool’s seat.
To drill the slots, join the two panels and lock them, using a bench vice. In the absence of this tool, use an alternative hacksaw and create the two cuts separately and finish them with a chisel and a hammer, removing any excess wood parts.
Once the panels have been inserted into the slots, make sure that the structure is stable and apply wood glue to the interlocking areas. Allow everything to dry and retest the stool’s strength.
Add the panel that will serve as a seat with wood glue. Finally, decorate the stool according to personal taste.
